SmartScreen is a rapidly growing e-learning portal supporting learners, tutors and assessors of City & Guilds qualifications.

Who we are

SmartScreen is a learner and tutor support website, set up by City & Guilds, to provide level- and qualification-specific support to City & Guilds learners, tutors and assessors.

The free qualification factsheets service provides a range of useful information and documentation on an ever increasing range of City & Guilds qualifications.  Simply choose your sector and qualification.

The subscription service will give all tutors and learners access to the enhanced teaching and learning materials available on the site.  City & Guilds centres can subscribe by paying a subjective annual administration fee per level of a qualification.

We are developing new materials all the time and increasing the range of qualifications that will be supported on SmartScreen.  To find out which qualifications are coming online as part of the new subscription service please click here.

Which qualifications we support

We add new qualifications to SmartScreen periodically.  To find out which qualifications we currently support and when new qualifications will come online, visit the qualifications supported page. To access the full support for your qualification, you need a SmartScreen password. 

If you have a password

If your centre (the college, training organisation or place of work at which you take your City & Guilds qualification) has issued you with a SmartScreen password, you should use it to log in on the home page.  This will give you access to the full support for your qualification(s). 

If you don't have a password

To access the full support for your qualification, your centre (the college, training organisation or place of work at which you take your City & Guilds qualification) needs to subscribe.  Find out how to subscribe and what kind of support we offer on the information pages for centres, tutors/assessors or learners.
