City & Guilds Learning Apps

City & Guilds are proud to announce the launch of a series of mobile phone apps as part of its commitment to enhancing learners’ experiences both in the UK and abroad. It is hoped the apps will give learners the freedom to develop their skills whenever and wherever they like.

All of the apps are available for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch as well as all Android devices and Windows Phones. They can be downloaded by searching for City & Guilds in the Apple App store or in Google Play.

In total, three different apps have been developed - SmartCards, A-Z, and QuizCity.

SmartCards - which are currently available for Business Administration, Customer Service and Retail learners, and provide testing opportunities on key learning points through easy to use flashcards. Learners can identify areas for improvement and work on them by tagging topics as “learned” or “for review”.

City & Guilds plans to expand into Sports sectors soon.

QuizCity is another revision tool, enabling learners to test themselves through a series of multiple choice questions. They can receive instant feedback and can see their strengths and weaknesses ahead of their assessments.

QuizCity is currently available for ICT and Light Vehicle but City & Guilds plans to expand into Travel & Tourism and Retail sectors soon.

Finally, A-Z Hair provides learners with all the technical vocabulary and images they need to know for their hairdressing qualification. In addition, its search functionality means it’s even easier to use than the traditional reference books. New Apps to support beauty qualifications will be available soon.
